Our company is unique compared to others. From many other plumbing services, you will hear that they have more than 30 years of experience, but we have much more. Our company originated as a trucking company in 1948 and then transitioned into what we know today in the 1970s. As part of our desire to help you as much as possible, we have provided a list of basic plumbing questions. These questions are to help inform you of basic services or signs you might be experiencing in your property.

My toilet keeps clogging. What should I do to solve it?

Dealing with a clogged toilet once is particularly inconvenient let alone dealing with a clogging toilet on a consistent basis. When you are seeing the same consistent problem arise, then these could be signs of a larger issue. There are a variety of causes that could be happening, but it is happening within your plumbing system. One of the reasons could be an aging plumbing system. Most pipes have a lifeline of twenty or more years, so if you are not sure how old your pipes are it is important to get in touch with your local plumbing professional to help determine the age of your pipes and whether or not they need to be replaced. A clog within your pipes could be a mineral or debris buildup that has slowly happened over time, but this is not something that you should be worrying about. Your consistent clog can be fixed as soon as you contact your plumber.

There are water stains on my walls. What does that mean?

A water stain on or inside your walls could indicate a couple of things. One of the most common things that you might be experiencing is something as simple as a small water leak within your pipe or it could be indicating something much drastic like a pipe bursting within your walls.  A small leak is nothing to trifle with. If a leak is left unchecked for too long, it will eventually grow larger and as time moves forward will lead to a pipe bursting. Pipe bursts are a much large expenditure compared to fixing a leak. When you are experiencing water stains on your walls, then it’s likely you are experiencing other symptoms such as low water pressure, odd smells around the areas of your water source, and possibly a higher water bill. If you are experiencing any of these signs, then it is important that you don’t try to fix this yourself. We, at Vietzke Trenchless, offer an experienced and friendly set of experts able to resolve any of these issues that are arising.

I used a DIY drain cleaner on my pipes, but it didn’t do anything. What should I do?

When your drain is slowing down, it is common to want to go to the store and buy a cheaper chemically-based substance that claims it will clear out any clogs in your drain. The problem with this kind of solution is that it often does not clear out the culprit causing the consistent clogs and it often adds to the problem. Chemically-based solutions are temporary at best but can cause issues later down the line. They are also not healthy for the pipes themselves. A chemical that is strong enough to dissolve certain minor clogs are dangerous for your pipes and begin to break down the steel. If your pipes are not new, then this can cause additional damage to your pipes. Your next steps then, are to contact your local plumbing professional. Consistent clogs are a sign that something larger is going on. At Vietzke Trenchless, we can provide you with the resources you need to protect your plumbing system and clear out any clog that is happening.

My faucet won’t stop leaking. How do you stop a leaking facuet?

We are sure that when you lay down at night, the last thing you want to be hearing is a small slow drip…drip…drip. A leaky faucet can be very frustrating and incredibly inconvenient. It might seem like a small and simple fix to avoid any professional expenses that may arise by purchasing a DIY drain cleaner. However, home remedies and consulting someone who is not licensed to deal with such leaks can cause a larger expense later. A leak might be something small now, but a leak is a sign of something wrong with the plumbing whether the leak is only in that general area or if it is located across your property. Consulting a licensed professional is what you need in order to determine how serious a problem it truly is or if it is a simple maintenance fix. At Vietzke Trenchless, our team is comprised of licensed, experienced, and reliable technicians who are able to diagnose a small or larger problem.

Does pipe repair have to be done through excavation?

It is understandable that you don’t want to destroy your landscaping. Large or small excavations can disrupt the smooth yard that you have worked hard to create for yourself and your home. The idea of digging ditches in your rose garden or well-maintained landscape is frustrating to think about. Many years ago, digging ditches to fix any plumbing problems was the only method offered; however, in recent years the plumbing industry wanted to make things easier for the process, the customer and licensed technicians. Trenchless technology is a higher form of solving most plumbing that comes up on occasion. This is also known as the “No-dig solution.” With the development of this new technology, in most situations, this technology can be used to fix and repair broken pipes without disrupting your beautiful yard.

What’s the difference between Traditional and Trenchless Pipe Repair?

Utilizing a traditional method is not a bad method to use. For many years it was and still is used to dig trenches to diagnose a plumbing issue or problem. Traditional methods often result in a larger excavation of the property, also known as digging trenches. Digging trenches has its benefits and is still used in some scenarios today. There are many plumbing services, including Vietzke Trenchless, that offers trenchless services. Trenchless technology is also known as no-dig resolutions or no-interruption solutions. The purpose of this method is to provide a more environmentally friendly, affordable, and easier process for both the customer and our technicians. Many plumbing companies offer both traditional and trenchless technology. Each has its own uses and it is best to consult a licensed technician to determine which method should be used in your home.

Why should I have my pipes checked regularly?

It is important to have your plumbing system checked on a regular basis by a licensed specialist. While it may seem inconvenient at times, a small check-up that takes an hour or two out of your time while keeping your home intact and working properly is a much better situation than having your plumbing break at a sudden and often terrible time. Having a pipe system that is in great condition and running water are the two most important pieces of your internal system. Let’s say that you have been dealing with a dripping faucet for a few years. You see water stains on the walls. Your drains or toilets are always getting clogged. These are signs that something is going on and cannot be fixed on the surface. If these kinds of things are not taken care of in the moment, then your plumbing system will eventually breakdown and it will be a much larger expense in the long run. At Vietzke Trenchless, we offer great services and experienced technicians for honest and fair pricing.

What can cause a buildup in my plumbing system?

There are a variety of reasons that your plumbing system has buildup. Having buildup with your system is something that happens within all pipe systems. When water runs through your pipes, it brings with it minerals. These minerals don’t always move all the way through the entire system and get caught on the walls of the pipes. If left unchecked or if enough time moves forward these minerals can build up to a substantial amount. This is partially what causes a clog or a slow drain. Another kind of buildup within your pipes, completely separate from regular mineral buildup, is called a corrosion buildup. Corrosion is often caused when the pipes are too old. The pipes are literally corroding internally. Corrosion means that your pipes are beginning to weaken; this is caused mainly from the age of your pipes. Steel pipes are a particularly popular material, but they are susceptible to corrosion buildup if left unchecked. Another reason for a buildup in your pipes are just regular debris stuck in your plumbing system. This can be caused by a variety of things such as hair, soap residue, or even a tree roots growing inside your home. This is why it is important that you consult your local plumbing professional to determine what type of buildup you have and what the best solution is to clear out that buildup.

I keep hearing bubbling noises coming from my sink. What could be wrong?

Often a bubbling noise coming from your sink indicates either a buildup in your pipes. Another possibility is debris is stuck in your drain. These are the most common reasons that people are experiencing bubbling from your sink. Another possibility is that your pipes have a low water pressure or you may have a leak in your pipes. If this was the case then you would also be experiencing a higher water bill, strange and moldy smells around the water source, or you would see water stains near the areas of your sink. If you are experiencing any of these signs, then make an appointment with us here at Vietzke Trenchless. It’s important that you have a professional look at your pipes to ensure there’s nothing more serious going on with your system. We are of course to help you in any way we can, and we pride ourselves in offering the fairest price and the highest quality service.
